Illumination

Five friends with a mission. Find stars and share them. Each of us brought patterns (and food) to share every month or so for about a year. Everyone chose their own colours and fabrics and how to arrange the finished blocks. I ran out of background fabric partway through and had to substitute something close... which TOTALLY worked, by the way... but eventually found some more of the original fabric at a local quilt shop with older stock to finish the wider borders around the quilt. This quilt hangs in my dining room and lights up the space. (My next door neighbour tells me I should leave it to him in my will.)

I especially like the quirky shooting star that I added at the end to fill a disturbingly empty space in the bottom righthand corner... and the dragon's teeth in the border that spike like Northern lights.
